How do I add more attendees to my current Multi-party conference?

 

• To add additional attendees to your current multi-party conference click the “Manage Multi-Party Chat” button located in the bottom right of your interface

• Then invite a new attendee by clicking the + sign next to their contact name as at the beginning of the conference.
This will call them to the current conference.

• As the new attendee answers you’ll see them appear on screen.

How do I resize my video display window?

• While in a call, look for an icon button below the video display window with a horizontal arrow pointing both ways on it.

• Click this and the interface will reduce to Compact view.

• Click on the bottom right corner of the Compact window to drag the window size larger or smaller.

How do I start a Multi-Party Video Chat?


To initiate a multi-party chat in Dell video chat

1.Go to the Actions menu and Click "Start a Multi-Party Chat.  You can also click the link below the Video Display window.

2. Add conference attendees (up to 4) from you contact list by clicking plus by next to the contact name.  (You’ll see the contacts added to your conference window on the left)

How do I start a One-to-One Video Chat?

 

Once you have downloaded Dell Video Chat, it’s easy to make a video call.

  • Launch and sign in to Dell Video Chat.
  • After signing in, take a look at your contact list on the right of the video window.
  • Click on the video call icon (looks like a video camera) or voice call icon (looks like a phone) next to the available contact’s name. (You can also click on the name of the contact in the contact list in the Video tab to start the call).
  • You will hear it start to ring just like a regular phone call.
  • Once the contact answers, you’ve just successfully made a video call.

Note: If no one answers you can leave a video message for them.

How do I switch from a 1-1 to a Multi-party conference?

 

• If you’re already in a call and would like to add others to the chat session simply click the  “switch to multiparty chat”  button located in the bottom right or your interface

• A message will appear on screen denoting a Multi-Party Chat Failure since a call is already in progress.  You can disregard this and click “End call and start Multi-Party Chat”

How do I view Video Full Screen?

Click this and the screen will expand to full screen.

Initiating a Test Call in Dell Video Chat

 

At times is will be helpful to test your video and audio.  You can do this by initiating a test call from your contact list.  Here’s how.

• Click the test “Test Call” contact on your contact list

• You’ll be given 10 seconds to record a chat.  Speak, smile and move around.  This is your chance to shine!

• When the recording is done it will immediately begin to play back so pay attention-smile

• If you heard and saw yourself ok during the playback click “Yes” and begin chatting with others!  If not, click “No” and check your settings.
