Tips to Remember
- Connection speed impacts the quality of your picture, but so do webcams!
- Webcams are not created equal!
- Price infers quality in this case... as a rule, stay away from anything under $50
- Don’t worry about the lingo, but if you’re interested, CCD sensor (Charged Couple Device) cameras provide better picture quality than CMOS sensor cameras (Complementary Metal-Oxide Semi-conductor)
- Setup your webcam before installing SightSpeed
What you can control
- Sometimes exiting a call and trying again, can reset and improve the connection speed... which then improves everything about the call, including your picture quality
How SightSpeed helps
- Sightspeed’s setup wizard walks you through step by step in configuring you’re your webcam for the best possible picture
- SightSpeed adjusts the size of video/audio bits while you’re in call, so that you get the best call possible given the connection speeds at hand
- Unfortunately, SightSpeed is at the mercy of any one of the participants' ISP bandwidth and quality of service.
